Santa likes gift giving!
We've been playing around with clay ever since Halloween and wanted to make a claymation movie. Here's what we made Christmas Eve. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity-Jig
Just wanted to update you all. They lifted the evacuation in our area last night. But they suggested that those with asthma stay away until today. So we are back home now. They are still recommending that those with asthma stay indoors for the next few days, so we are trying to keep Charly entertained until they get the fire under control. There are some pretty big wind gusts this afternoon that have blown the fire back in our direction, but because it was mostly sage brush, there aren't a lot of hot spots on our side of the mountain. Hopefully things will stay calm here and they will get it put out soon.
Thanks again for all of the calls and texts.

We're All Alright!
Okay, if you haven't heard by now, crawl out from under your rock! No, just kidding.
In all seriousness, the mountain by Mom's house started on fire yesterday afternoon. By the time we got home from the family dinner at Rebecca's around 8 last night, they were evacuating homes to the south of us. We got to the house and started packing. Due to Charly's, Mom's, Candace's, and David's asthma, and Aunt Phyl being on oxygen, we thought it best to just get while the gettin' was good.
It's hard packing in a situation like that. It's hard to decide what you can't live without, knowing that what you leave behind might not be there tomorrow. What would you pack in a situation like that??? We quickly grabbed the laptop, the hard drive with most of our pictures on it, our scrapbooks, clothes, other necessities, and things that would comfort and entertain the kids. I strongly suggest investing in a portable hard drive if you don't have one already. Take the time to scan all of your photos and memorabilia onto it. Mom and Aunt Phyl had to leave so much behind because they just couldn't fit it all in. My other suggestion: GET ORGANIZED! Make sure you know where all of your important documents are and that you can get to them in a flash. I am terrible at this. I keep thinking that I will get it all done tomorrow. In fact, that was my plan for yesterday's tomorrow. Instead, I am sitting in my in-laws kitchen, wishing had this and that. Wishing I knew where the birth certificates were put when we got our new desk. Wishing I could find some of the presents that I bought for Cheyenne's birthday tomorrow.
It's pretty heart wrenching, looking at your home and thinking of every memory attached to each thing you have collected over the years, and knowing you can't take it with you. My heart goes out to the families that did loose their homes. I am amazed at the outpouring of love and support that has come from the community. Thank you to everyone that called to check on us. Due to the masses of people trying to make calls to loved ones, the networks were totally jammed.
Mom, Aunt Phyl, Candace, and David ended up at Uncle Bryce's. Nate, the girls, and I are at his parent's house. So much ash got in the motor of our car that it died on the way here. We had to have Nate's dad tow us to his house. But we made it here safe and sound. Nate washed the motor out this morning, so the car is back up and running.
We have been told that we are allowed to go back to our houses to check on it, but they recommend we stay away. The fire is no where near under control at this time, and due to Herriman's lovely winds, they are concerned about how quickly things can change from minute to minute.
Here are some links so that you can stay up to date if you want.

1st Day of Kindergarten
Despite all my begging to get her to stay home at least one more year,
Dakota headed off to Kindergarten today.
Want to see what she wore?
She's got a little model in her, I guess.
I used to watch America's Next Top Model religiously (lame, I know)
And Dakota was my little side kick.
I guess a little rubbed off on her,
because she wanted to do a fashion show of all of her new clothes.
In the interest of time, she only got to model her 1st day outfit.
I'm not sure if she was going for Ham or Model here...
Of course, the backpack HAD to be PRINCESS!
She has already completed (and hopefully handed in) her first homework assignment.
She had to decorate the paper doll to look like her.
She insisted I come up with a way to show that she has white around the blue in her eyes.
What 5 year old thinks like that???
Anyway, we put white buttons under the blue beads.
We also had to answer a few questions about her.
I had to take a picture so that I can look back years from now and know what her favorites were way back when...
Okay. I'm not going to cry...
AGAIN!

Family input
So I need some help from my family. I graduated with my medical assisting and when I went to take the certification practice test and I didn't know what I needed to. My main goal was to get my R.N. but you have to work as a C.N.A. to do that as you all know my back wont let me work as an C.N.A. so now I am thinking med tech. But I just can't go to more school without getting a job first. So here is what I am thinking...I will go take a phlebotomy course (6 weeks and 450$)and then work in phlebotomy while I go back to school to get the knowledge I need to get a good job. Here is were you all come in I want to know what you think about this and if I am doing the right thing or if I should just keep trying at the M.A. thing for a while.

Hi everybody! We miss you and hope all the birthday parties have been fun! I thought I'd catch you up on a little bit of what's been going on around here...
Here's what I did to myself on the 4th... ...(yes my legs are swollen to twice the normal size. I guess that can happen when you get a bad sunburn. Who knew.)
& here's the newest member of our family, Nacho!

A few changes to the blog.
Blogger changed a few things and knocked off my fun background. Bummer! But on the other hand, they made it so that I could widen the post area. That means we can make the pictures bigger!
See?
See?
This is from Kaitlyn's birthday party. I promise I will post more pix from her party and Lexi's party later. Right now I have to go see if I can rescue my bed from about a million rubber maids...

My new phone
Hey everybody! I have a favor to ask. I dropped my old phone and the screen cracked so I couldn't see anything. Including my contacts. I got a new phone and still have the same #. Could you each text me your name and number, and spread the word to those that don't get on the blog to do the same? I'd appreciate it!

I posted a bunch of pictures on facebook, so you have to go there if you want to see them all, but here are the highlights.
Relaxing at the beach, taking a mini vacation from our vacation the weekend after we got back. What a cutie!!!!!
I love this smile, so innocent.
I don't know what's cuter, the snorkel thing in her mouth or the fact her hair is all hanging in her face. Or the fact that when I put this as my profile picture Rylie said, "Mom, now everybody in the world can see it, Grandma Little and everybody."
